Calcium chloride

Calcium chloride (CaCl2) is a colorless cubic crystal composed of chlorine and calcium.

White or gray white, granular, honeycomb block, spherical, irregular granular, powder.

It is odorless and slightly bitter. It is a typical ionic halide with white solid at room temperature.

It has strong hygroscopicity and deliquescence when exposed to the air. It is easy to dissolve in water and release a lot of heat. Its aqueous solution is slightly alkaline.

Calcium chloride has the characteristics of exothermic, low freezing point of aqueous solution, strong moisture absorption, poor corrosion to metal, accelerating the condensation of organic polymer materials, so it is widely used.
