Product Description
Carbon black, also known as carbon black, is an amorphous carbon. Light, loose and very fine black powder, with a large surface area ranging from 10 to 3000m2/g, is the product of incomplete combustion or thermal decomposition of carbon-containing materials (coal, natural gas, heavy oil, fuel oil, etc.) under insufficient air. The specific gravity is 1.8-2.1. Gas black is made of natural gas, lamp black is made of oil, and acetylene black is made of acetylene. In addition, there are "slot black" and "furnace black". According to the properties of carbon black, it can be divided into "reinforced carbon black", "conductive carbon black" and "wear-resistant carbon black". It can be used as a black dye for making Chinese ink, ink, paint, etc. and as a reinforcing agent for rubber.

Carbon black structure
The structure of carbon black is expressed by the degree of aggregation of carbon black particles into chains or grapes. Carbon black composed of aggregates consisting of size, morphology and the number of particles in each aggregate is called high-structure carbon black. At present, oil absorption value is commonly used to indicate structure. The bigger the oil absorption value, the higher the structure of carbon black. It is easy to form a space network channel, and not easy to destroy. High-structured carbon black has fine particles, compact network chains, large specific surface area and more particles per unit mass, which is conducive to the formation of chain conductive structure in polymers. Among many carbon black varieties, acetylene carbon black is the best.
Carbon black particles with wide particle size distribution can give polymer more conductivity than carbon black particles with narrow particle size distribution, and this phenomenon is explained by statistical method. Carbon black with wide particle size distribution needs to be compensated by a small number of larger particles. Carbon black with the same average particle size distribution has more total particles than carbon black with narrow particle size distribution.
